No ammo

SPWAW v 8.4 Normandy Gold Campaign

Afetr some time away from the game I started this campaign. Once I set up my units I allocated bombardments but I only had 2 of the 6 Landing support units available. Not thinking anything of it other than cammand and control I carried on and allocated targets for the two that I had control over.

After turn 1 was over I went to bambardment again but now I had no Landing Support units available???? After checking them ALL had zero ammo.[&:]so I reloaded the campaign and checked them. The 2 that i could use had less than a complete salvo.

I restarted the campaign but set limited ammo to off thinking this may be the problem. No still the same.

I have since restarted the scenario five times using various configuration but its always the same.

This is really annoying.[:@]

Is there a patch I don't know about? Can I edit the save game somehow prior to playing the first turn.

Any help would be appreciated.

The designer may not have issued full ammo loads to those units.
But Flash did re work this for 8.4, so try out his patch

You need the patch Alby referred to. hen I did the rework of that campaign, I found that many of the units were obsolete, as they had been built with an earlier game version, and those Landing Support units had different weapons and ammo loads back when.

OK so no I'm using the patch for Normandy Gold I've got ammo for the landing Support units. Thats good. Unforunately the gun ships can only direct fire. Surely this is wrong and they should be able to indirect fire as well[&:]. Can anyone tell me how to rectify this using an editor please.

No, the gunships can't indirect fire, because their Unit Class (LCG) isn't an "artillery" type; for indirect fire, the use of the Destroyer, Cruiser, or Battleship would be needed. Short of replacing them with those Offmap Naval units, there is no way to give them indirect fire capability.
