Hi guys,

How the world of today would have been if the Axis had won WW II instead of the Allies. I think along with most of Europ, Germany would also be including all the former Soviet area and Japan all the China along with many other areas of Asia.[:)]

There was a film made that explored this to some extent 'Fatherland' starring Rutger Hauer. It has been a long time since I have seen it though.

The entire world would be "at best" like North Korea or we would all be dead.

I see no middle ground.

Yes it is. The other Robert Harris books I have read are excellent too. Enigma has a background in WW2 codebreaking, Pompei is about the volcano and Archangel is set in 90s Russia but involves the WW2 era too.

Top 10 things that would be different.
10. No Israel or Poland.
9. No Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran or North Korea.
8. Drilling in Anwar and anywhere else there is oil.
7. Britney Spears or Rosie O'Donnell will not be celebs unless they sing Opera.
6. Trains will run on time and be profitable
5. Airline food. You vill like or else!
4. Japanese will holiday unmolested in Hawaii.
3. Soccer would be the National sport.
2. Japanese and German cars will be the most popular autos in America.
1. An Austrian will be put in charge of California.

I could not understand your point number 9 that there would have been no Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq. How? Although your points that there would have been no Israel, Poland and North Korea are understandable.[:)]

If I remember right, the Ottoman Empire and the Arabian Peninsula had been cut up into what we know as the Middle East by the Allies following WWI.

I see. Yes you are right. But why did you include Iran (Persia)?
