Is there a good War in Europe scenario?

I've been playing "Into the Reich", and have read the review of another scenario posted in the AAR forum, but they seem to have major problems - eg ITR has a OOB where each division seesm to represent a regiment in some theatres (such as Nth Africa - the Afrika Korps/Panzer Armee Afrika appears with about 10 tank and mechanised divisions, the Italians start with about 20 divisions there....)....

so I'm in hte market for a more "realistic" ww2 scenario if there's one about?

Yes. There is one, the greatest one; Europe Aflame. It is the definitive scenario for WWII in Europe for TOAW.
It is avaialble here...http://www.xtreme-gamer.com/forums/show ... 28691...at the bottom of the page.

Ahh...Curt, good point, but I think that Mark has come out with an upgraded version since TOAW III came out...if memory serves.

Miller41 has a good point. Also, you need a human opponent, as it is far too complex to have the PO work.

Eek...yes - not sure I'm going to be alive long enough to play that!! :)

I'd really like a corps level one rather than division - I like high level games for my entertainment - I havent' seen anything like that around the traps - perhaps I need to develop an interest in creating scenarios!! :)

Let's see.....use the map from ITR, can get a WW1 OOB easy enough (a WW1 one would be good too...;)), WW2 OOB a bit harder but not impossible.....

Think you missed his point. He was stating that . . .

"I'd really like a corps level one rather than division - I like high level games for my entertainment"

I take "entertainment" to be equavilent to having "fun".

Surely you must admit, TOAW at the Corps level as defined above, is the same as having "fun".

I play everythign for "fun"[8D]

But I know that I prefer games where I don't have to worry about moving anti-tank battalians around to counter armoured thrusts, and preferably with few enough counters so I can do several moves in a night - I'm already playing a game of FitE, and that's way too low level for me.  Into the Reich does away with a lot of the support units and isn't too bead - even tho it's only at "Dvision" level, but the OOB's seem a bit dodgy.......a French Panzer Legion in Dec 1941 and the Afrika Korps/Pz Armee Afrika of a dozen or so German Divisions??[&:][&:]

If that's your taste, I've got a couple of "beer & pretzel" scale scenarios in the TOAW III collection you might want to take a look at: "Germany 1945" and "Soviet Union 1941". Both are Corps/Army @ 50km/hex.

There is also a divisional level "Beer & Pretzels" European theater sceanario (I got it at Rugged Defense). Don't let the scale fool you-it's fast and fun. I'm trying to remember the name....."World War Two" if you look in Rugged Defense, the blurb (on the left), will contain the phrase "Beer & Pretzels" [:'(], and will go on to explain that the designer wanted to model A/H's "Third Reich". It also has a PO.

Other possibilities include "Inside The Reich", and "The 4th Repbulic" (Which is hypothetical. Both have a PO, and provide an entertaing game. [:D] WARNING: Do NOT try 4th Repbulic unless you want the PO to kick you ass the first time around.[:-]

"I'd really like a corps level one rather than division - I like high level games for my entertainment"

This following on from his remark that he wouldn't have enough time to play the scenario. Thus I figured that he thought the scenario was too large and was asking for one that was corps level. Since there are quite a lot of divisions and smaller units in Europe Aflame, one could be forgiven at a cursory glance for not noticing that corps dominate.
