I got the game about a week ago and I have been unable to install it on my primary machine. When I initial the install it says initializing, then something flashes quickly and the setup bombs.

I was able to set it up no problem on my wife's PC. Is there any problem with specific hardware installations? I'm trying to install it on a AMD athalon 550. I've got a savage 4 graphics card in it and 256MB of memory. Also, I had no problem running the original starships unlimited on it.

Well, the installer is completely different than the one used in the shareware. This is an area that Matrix Games will have to handle. I suggest you contact them via email if they haven't contacted you already.
