Hello all. [:)]

This is the first time i have played this game. So i am very new to this form of game. The closest thing i have played to it is Europe universalis.

Anyway my problem is i have moved an infantry a cannon a cavalry and an officer unit to another province. They are separate. Can anyone tell me how do i make a container for all these units to go into? I want them to be together under the command of the officer.

Thanks for any help

You will need to build either a corps or army (your starting force should have included one or more of the latter). Click on a province, click on province management and click on military production to bring up a list of the units that can be built there. Each build selected will cost resources (those shown highlighted in the list are those that you have the resources for). The province needs sufficient barracks level to permit the build - 3 for an army, 5 for a corps. An army takes 6 turns to build, a corps 2.

Don't be surprised if you haven't sufficient resources at the start to build such units. Depending on your country it may take some time to gather enough resources - textiles especially - through resource/money production from your own provinces supplemented by trade(imports). Barracks developments also take time/resources but one or more of your provinces will usually start with a higher barrack level.

Hello Clausel.

I already have 3 units in the province. I move them there from different provinces. I want to join them up together.

So are you telling me that i cannot combine the 3 seperate units unless i first build an additional 3 more units in that province?

Thanks for your time.

You need to build either an Army or a Corp. These are "container" units. Then you can place the units into it.

An army or corps container unit is built in a home province or conquered one. When produced it can then be ordered to move to the province where the units are (unless they are already located there) or vice versa. Up to six units plus leaders can normally be placed in a corps container and eight in an army. The army's can include a number of corps (filled with units) thereby increasing its maximum force to around 18/19 units. You don't need to reach the maximum limit - three units or even one will do but are obviously less effective than full strength and units can be added/subtracted in different provinces.

Ok thanks Clausel. It just seems unreal that you have 3 units in a province and a officer and you cannot join them together unless you make another 3 units. But i suppose thats they way they made the game.

I think you are misunderstanding what you need to do. You need to build a Corps or Army, and then you can join the divisions by placing them in the Corps or Army. So you don't have to build anymore units but the "container" unit.

Note, you don't have to join them at all. They will fight together and there is even a way to move them together though it's not efficient. However, when part of a corps or army, they move together by default and there are also some combat bonuses. I think they have done a fair approximation of modelling the C3 with this method. Good luck. It's a bit of a steep learning curve but once you figure it out it's quite fun.
