UPDATE IV

hey gang

okay, first off, I hope everyone knows, that this is not a normal game, so the normal time line that you would expect can not really be set up and followed

so overall, most of what I have been talking about and showing, doing, is really a advanced Alpha model

but most of the stuff you do a beta for, has already been done, do alot of Beta work is finished, but we still in Alpha

which is the reason for this post

we can now say, that we are now in Beta, the games have been handed over to Matrix for them to do some of the stuff they need to, and then the "real" testing begins

there is still Art needed, game balance, corrections and what not, but we getting there

I would like to thank everyone for there interest and support, it means a lot

it is not soup yet, no, we are not there, but the stove is on and the fixings are on the table

should be able to start giving better details on how things are shaping up now

I can't speak for Waynno, my co-programmmer, but this has been a lot of fun to date. We're looking forward to your accolades and congratulations once we are done...

But, there is still a great deal to do...

It's great to see that you are going into the beta stage. I'm really looking forward to this game and I hope that the beta process will be a swift one. :)

*Edit*

By the way, will you be having an open beta? Or just closed beta?

Well, it is a closed beta, but I am open to any ideas or disagreements

overall, I hope to not be keeping secerts from anybody

right now, I think there is only one thing we had added that I have not told anyone about, and that is not to keep it  a secert, but for it to be a surprise

For me, it has nothing to do about "getting to know all about the game" or it's "secrets". I merely see an open beta as a good oportunity for you to find (and squash) the bugs in the game. But if you feel you can do that just as effectively in a closed beta, then that's all good of course. [:)]

Mannock,

With Matrixgames track record for supporting their games we should not have too much to worry about squashing bugs. Hey they have already stated that they squahed the Dover/Belfast bug, that is already better then what Talonsoft ever did!

I'm absolutely sure Matrixgames does their utmost to squash every bug in every game. But the fact of the matter is that todays games are very complicated and the vast majority gets released with bugs. A few patches later and most of them are solved though.

My point is that a larger based (ie more people than 20) beta test can get a better bug squashing result. Maybe the gains are to few though to administer such a beta process, I'm not the one to make such estimations. I just offer a suggestion, that I think might create a better end product. [:)]

Harley has done most of the code fixes and it looks great - especially some of those tough bugs (e.g.Dover)

Welcome back Carlos !

More testers isn't necessarily a good thing, because it'll take time away from squashing the bugs to sift through the bug reports.

What? I can't count on my P38 FS over Albania flying all the way to England and back? I thought that was a feature!

Good to hear from you Waynno!

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out because Harley's done great work before and because you are both familiar enough with the game to know what the important changes should be.

Here is, hopefully, a picture of a model... made out of card stock!

Wotcher Harley, HS!!

When we get an update to the old horse I'll get excited again. Jeez I get annoyed with assigning every individual NF and recon. Argh. I love the game but... Argh again.

D'you want more pictures? I got a few more you might like... Name this one!

Is there really a new game coming out soon? It's not like waiting for revs on the old game is it?
