is there a quick and easy way for me to check my system compatibility with maximum-football? I'm very interested but I am not sure about my computer's ability to handle it!

I dont even know where to look for that information, thats kind of what I'm asking for direction for. I appreciate all your help that you are able to give.

alright, here's what i could find so far
128 mb RAM
Intel Celeron Processor
664 MHz

Since a 1.5 Gigahertz processor and 1 gig of RAM is recommended, you don't comes close to meeting the requirements.  There were even some people who had trouble if they didn't have a higher end video card as well.

As the person that built the game, I would say you would definitely run into problems. I will make the assumption, based on the specs provided, your system does not have a quality 3D card either. That's something the game needs to work best.

Although the "official" recommended specs call for 1gig of RAM I'm sure you don't need that much. My primary dev machine only has 512MB of DDR RAM.

The official game minimum requirements are below. Those users that wish to crank up all the details and use real time shadowing etc, may want to have the recommended show in parenthesis.

1 GHz CPU (1.5 GHz+ Recommended)
512 MB RAM (1 GB Recommended)
128 MB Video Card (Non-integrated Video)
DirectX-compatible Sound Card
300 MB free Hard Drive space

The video is the standard on board junk.

It runs ok, but I think the processor is currently doing all the work. My old PC was only 1.8ghz with 1gig ram and a 128mg geforce card. The game actually ran about the same, a bit better on the geforce.

I think video card makes a big difference.

Does that computer have an AGP conenctor or is it soldered out?
 
There are a few really cheap graphics cards that would make that system much better.

I have the same system as desktop pc. Built in is a GeForce 4 with 128 MB,too. I use high uniform settings, resolution settings are 1.200x1.000 (?), all details on but no shadows.

What is the graphics card?  This is similar to what my son has, but his internal graphics was just crap.  He picked up a cheap GeForce 6200, and now it plays fine.

Marauders, I have 2 available PCI slots, will probably get a cheap card to upgrade soon.
I gave my old PC to my son, it was a 1.8ghz, 1meg ram and a geforce 5200. Ran the game ok, but I always got the framerate warning after a couple plays.

David, speaking of that, any way to disable that warning. I got the hint, no need to remind me my PC is inferior

Well Gary, there's good news and bad news there. The bad news is that no, in your current version, there is no way to turn that off. The good news is that in R3 there is. It's a simple change to an ini file. Infact during most of the beta testing that has been turned off for testers.

If you don't have an AGP or PCIe slot, then go over to Newegg and pick up a GeForce 6200 PCI card for about $40 bucks.  As long as you get the driver that works with it, it is a pretty nice cheap card for PCI only machines.

I assume PCI means old PCI in your case rather than PCIe.

I checked Newegg, and the card my son picked up six months ago is no longer available.
 
The GeForce 5500 is almost as good, but it isn't quite as fast.
