A few issues...

Ive played the game for a couple of hours and come across a few minor annoyances...

- When the explosion sound is playing for destorying a mine it sound as though the same sound is repeatidly being played, multiple explosions sounds, within a very short delay of each other. Lots of particles used for the explosions, which i witnessed up close and personal :)

- Wingmen voices carry over out of the game world and into the mission debriefing screen. These voices can also be activated when trying to press the accept button, which kicks in the voices as they seemed to have been queued. Note I auto-pilot back to base to skip manual landing (dunno if this matters, not tried manual landing).

- Buttons wont press. Seems that some buttons refuse to be pressed, most notable when im trying to save the same. Eveytime I click the button I can hear a very queit pop on my headphones. Press the button enough times and it will click through. Found out this is because of alt-tabbing to the desktop. Go back to the game and the mouse will not go further than the top of the window bar (or where ever it is placed)

- Bomber wingmen unload all their payload on a single target. Very annoying if youve come across a freighter you want to take out on your way to the true objective. Also when they are out of missiles they just circle the target and dont bother to use their main guns. Granted main guns dont do much damage to large vessels, but when theres 2 or more of you attacking the same target it does help to get the job done quicker.

Thats it for now, I like the additions that ive noticed so far. Time for sleep... [>:]

At the conclusions of Operation Highland I get some screen with an exit button on the bottom right. Thing is thats all i get. The screen is laid out in a what looks like that I should get some explanation of the events that caused the conclusion, text or cut-scene, but its blank and thats it.

Maybe a fix for your sound glitching? http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1290486

I've updated my sound drivers, as a newer version was released just a while ago, which had improved the sound problems somewhat. I'll give your idea a go and see if it gets any better.

quick note: I also got the black intermission screen that had me wait for something. I had the game's frame graphics, a button, but the center rectangle that looked like a cutscene display of sorts did not show anything other than black. I clicked the button and continued on to the third campaign though.
