I get the following error when trying to create a new scenario in the Scenario Maker -

An unhandled exception ocurred in COTA_SM.exe[2876]

The number 2876 changes and is never the same number (not so far).

I can open a stock scenario in the scenario maker but cannot create a new scenario.

Any ideas?

Same here (different error message - I am on XP) - but creating a new scenario cause s a crash. Opening an existing one is OK.

I get:
COTA_SM.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm using XP Pro.

Possibly a short-term solution would be for one of the other players to create the scenario using the required map (sent by email or here) and send the file back to the person who cannot create new scenario(s).

Just a short-term idea while the problem is fixed.

Yes we know about that one. I was wondering how long before someone noticed. I am very pleased that someone has, as it means some of you terrific people want to design new scenarios.[:)]

I have fixed this. It's in the patch 2 build out now being tested. Hopefully we can get an installer for the patch worked up by the end of the week, tested over the weekend and released next week.

In the meantime, if you can't wait, email me ( dave[at]panthergames[dot]com ), link to this thread and I will arrange for you to get the new ScenMaker app directly. We'll provide it on an "as is" basis. At least that way you will have something to continue with until the patch 2 is out.

Is that the patch that just was released? I have it installed and I am still unable to create scenarios. I get a CTD when I try to load a map to place units on.

Just tried it again here and it works fine. What version of the ScenMaker are you using. It should display the numerals "3.2.141" in the bottom right hand corner. If that is the version you are using, then what map and estab file are you selecting?

Thank you, I guess that solved it. I somehow failed install the patch correctly, I will try it again, but that seems to have been the problem.
