Event Doc Missing

Already posted in the mod forum with no official reply. There are quite a few mission events that are not documented in the manual. It would be very helpful for mission builders to know how these events work and what the parameters are. Any chance we'll see and updated manual, or perhaps an errata sheet detailing this information soon? Thanks,

dh

Hmm...at least a week from my post in the mod forum and coming up on a week from this post here. When can I expect an update to the manual or an errata sheet so that all of the mission building events are documented?

Thanks,

dh

Yawn.  November 3, 2006.  Third pinging post.  Thought I'd just come in here every Friday until an answer is posted.  Almost like a trouble ticket system....yeah, right.

November 10, 2006. Post #4. Days since question first asked: 19. When SS first came out, the dev was usually on answering questions in a timely manner. Different world I guess. Update the manual please to include a complete description of mission building options, specifically events. Thanks,

dh

19 days? Surely would have been enough time to learn yourself? [:D]
Theres some modding info lurking around the forums, check some of the recent posts. Maybe the information you are looking for is there.

November 17, 2006.  Thanks for the suggestion onegoodman.  That'd be a good suggestion if I were asking a question that was answered in the manual or in these forums and someone had "already been there, done that".  I spent 3 days working through the undoc'ed events before I even posted the question, after reading the forums.  I'd rather continue to ask the question here and keep playing the game than test/debug.  'Cause honestly, that's not my job.

Having just recently gotten my copy, this is what I've found so far. Most of the new commands appear to be related to creating the cutscenes in the game. They are created by creating "mini-missions" if you will, that has a camera floating through them. I'll have to do some more thorough experimenting to see if they have applicability to normal playable missions.

I agree Dragonlead. I just haven't been able to put the parms together in a logical way to manipulate the scene correctly. Beginscene and endscene are pretty straightforward. The rest, well, if you discover anything let me know.

It just hampers some of the things I'm trying to do with the mission builder. Thanks,

Piperone,

From what I have been able to discern, almost every one of the new commands in the mission editor have to do with creating the cutscenes in TGS. From what I can tell, they are mini-missions with no human involvement (I certainly wouldn't let a CVBG walk into an ambush!!). I have to think then, that until Milo gives us the secret to their use, they don't play a role in standard mission building.
However, some "official" data on what parameters are used and what they mean as they relate to the various commands would certainly be very useful.

Yes, I'd come to that conclusion as well. It's not stopping me from playing and enjoying the game, nor is it stopping me from making missions (I certainly have). But I thought it would be very cool to include cut scenes in mission...kind of a mini-story. I'm just not holding out any hope at this point of knowing in the near future. Maybe down the road. I know Milo has always been very supportive of his users, but this release isn't generating alot of dev interaction - perhaps they're busy working on a patch that addresses some of the issues with the game. Any communication would be nice - officially.
