I'd join if you don't mind a player with limited PBEM experience. Preferably as Russia, if possible.

Willburn,

In a 4 player game its S.O.P. to have the Russian player control China as well. I would never host a 5 player game for the reason you stated. Playing China by itself would be silly. Since China's turn follows right after Russia's, it works well to have that player control it. Plus Russia has little to do in the early game, so giving control of China to him rather than the Western Allies gives him a bit more to do to make up for it.

Ok, how should we pair up? Guys, let me know your approximate skill level and we'll decide from there.

As hinted above I only started PBEM recently. I've got considerable experience with W@W in singleplayer mode though and will take hints from my partner. [:)]

Soviet Union seems like a good choice to me because there's not much you can do in the beginning and that leaves me time to get more PBEM experience. China is fine as well because I think that you can't do much wrong with them anyway.

I played the original a bit, but honestly I'm still (re)learning the game.

Ok guys skills noted[8D] I think it would be best that I play Japan since that is the most difficult one to play. Unless there is any objection to that?

Between the other 3 powers you guys will need to work something out. In the mean time would all you guys private message me your personal emails so I can send out an email to all of you. Then everyone will have all the addresses in order to pass our turns around.

PM sent.

Japan sounds like a good choice for you, with Germany and the Western Allies being second.
My priorities: Russia, then Germany, then Japan, then the Western Allies.

Here's the break down

Japan- Lebatron
Russia/China- GKar
These two matchups seem solid since they were first choice picks. Now to fill Germany and the WA's.

The other positions. Guys, let me know if this is ok with you. If we get no objections from Willburn, then Sveint can kick off the game.
Germany- Sveint
WA's - Willburn

To sum it up (and to answer Willburn's question by email), here's the breakdown in the right order:

Germany - sveint
Japan - Lebatron
Russia & China - GKar
Western Allies - Willburn
