I know a lot less about the beginnings of the " Great War". I am intersted in a timeline of Declarations of War.

I would assume that something similiar happened...

Austria- Hungry Invades Serbia
Russia Declares war on Austria-Hungary
Germany Declares war on Russia
France declares war on Germany
Germany invades Belgium and Luxemburg
England Declares war on Germany
Gets fuzzy after that.

I know eventually Italy declares war on Austria- Hungary
I also know the Allies invade Turkey drawing her into the war ( dont know when she sided with Germany. ( actually wasnt it the Ottoman Empire back then?)

Think somewhere along the way Japan got in the war On the allied side.

And the US came aboard in 1917.

Wiki hasas good a summary as you're likely to get at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I_timeline
but essentially you have got it mostly wrong! :)

The main sequence is:

[ol][*]AH declares war on Serbia July 28, and bombards Belgrade with artillery July 29
[*]AH & Russia mobilise July 30
[*] Germany demands Russia stops mobilisation July 31, then declares war on August 1 - Russia actually didn't declare war on anyone - it "just" mobilised (although you can get plenty of arguments about what that really meant!!)
[*]August 2 - Germany invades Luxembourg and presents ultimatum to Belgium demanding free passage for its troops
[*]On August 3 Germany declares war on France
[*]4 August Germany invades Belgium, Britain declares war on Germany as a result
[*]August 6 - AH declares war on Russia
[*]August 11 - France declares war on AH
[*]August 12 Britain declares war on AH
[*]August 23 - Japan declares war on Germany
[*]Italy refuses to join the CP saying its alliance is "defensive", and it is not bound because AH attacked Serbia.
[*]29 October - Ottoman Empire declares war on Russia by virtue of its ships bombarding Odessa. Edited to add that this was the Goeben and Breslau IRC, but now Turkish-flagged - there is some doubt as to whether the turks actually ordered this or the German commanders did it 'cos they felt like it!
[*]russia formally declares war on Ottomans 1 November, France and UK on 5 November
[*]25 April - French, British and Empire (Australian & New Zealand) troops land on Gallipoli Peninsular
[*]26 April 1915 - Italy signs "London Pact" and declares war on AH on May 23.  Declares war on Germany 15 months later on August 27 1916
[*]US declares war on Germany April 6 1917, and on AH in December 1917[/ol]
