OK, so I am trying to design my own ship mods and I decieded to look at someone elses work to get some ideas and some information. I went to the Starshatter Dev site and downloaded one of there small ships. I unzipped the file and placed all the information into the MODS folder in Starshatter. I start the game and go to the options page to activate the mod and it does not show up?

I also experimneting with designing a ship in Magic 1.5 and I followed a tutorial found at http://web.archive.org/web/200404291255 ... rview.html
I folled the instuctions and the option to add the mod is avalible and I activate it, when I go into the mission create screen I can not find the ship that I just created.

Can anyone help

Thanks
Mark

That is what the second icon is for with the -filesys extension. Unless the ships/missions have been datted (turned into a .dat file) you can't use them in the stock game. If they have been datted, you cannot access the files that created them to view or change.

Zanthras,
Your command line needs to drop the .exe at the very end and move it to read Stars.exe - filesys, otherwise it is correct.

It has been recommended to create another shortcut though, not alter the one you have. Just copy the existing, right click it and open the properties. from there just add on the -filesys after .exe
Hope this helps

Dragonlead, thanks for setting that straight, there are a lot of new players onboard and likely others may be looking for the same info. Besides, I forgot how to myself and I might just want to know how with TGS out.

Zanthras,
I have tried to copy and past a new Icon and then go into properties and change the end and add the -filesys extension but it give me an error message that the file could not be found? Any ideas?

Thanks

"C:\Matrix Games\Starshatter\Stars.exe" -filesys

It should look just like this, with the -filesys outside the quotes. Note there is a space between the last quote and the -filesys attachment. I just tried it here and it worked fine.

If you had the -filesys inside the quotes or you dont have the space after the quotes, then you would get an invaild path message.

Hope this helps

That's wrong info because the exe is not called stars.exe in TGS.

Right click the exe file and create a shortcut. Then go into the shrotcuts properties and add the -filesys comand to the end.
