Hi all I just got Max Football. I really like what I have seen so far. One question though, in the few quarters that I have had time to play, I don't think I have seen the first ball carrier break a tackle yet. It seems that as soon as a ball carrier makes contact with a defender he immediately goes down. Does the game not simulate breaking tackles?

Are you using release 3, I agree that in the first release of the game you very seldom say broken tackles, but with release three I have seen RB break 3-4 tackles on one play.  That along with the new open field running system has really made the running game stand out.

How can I tell what release I have?
I think the version I have says core version 1.384 and DB Engine 1.0308

Looks like you probably have version 1.3.84, which is R3.
 
The game does simulate broken tackles so I'm wondering if it's something else. I'm assuming you're using the stock leagues and haven't generated new players or anything..

I have generated new players but have been doing most of the playing with the stock teams and players.

I'll take a look at it.
 
Do you get any frame rate warnings or any warnings about regional settings when you start the game?
 
Beyond that, I'm not sure what to recommend yet other than keeping playing and watching. I'm sure the broken tackles will happen.

I Just finished another 2 quarters. Each time a ball carrier had the ball he went down at first contact. There were plenty of good runs though just not due to breaking tackles.

You should post the stats of the RB you are using.  That may be a contributing cause.

In addition to lack of broken tackles;
I was also getting an error when trying to edit plays in the PDS.
Too few parameters. Expected 1. In procedure ProcessPlayers

and then
Couldn't continue.
Press ESC to Quit
I finally uninstalled the game and then reinstalled, and it looks like this has solved both of my problems.

I had a running back run over a defender today. It was a dive play and the RB broke thru the line and plowed into a LB and the LB was knocked backwards. and the RB was able to pick up a few extra yards for the 1st down.
