Overtime Bug

Just finished a game that went into overtime. US Rules, game tied 16-16. Miami scores a TD to take a 22-16 lead... the game should be over at this point. Instead, they kick the extra point. So I'm thinking 'ok NOW the game will end'... nope. Both teams come out for the kickoff and proceed to play out the entire 15 minute overtime period.

I think they do something similar under Canadian rules, but under US professional rules overtime should be sudden death.

Check your league settings and make sure overtime is set to sudden death

Yep.. that looks like the league was set up for a 15 minute over time.

Canadian rules uses a shootout (well they do in real life, the shoot out is not yet an option in the game) from the 35 yardline.

By shootout, do you mean how American college football does it from the 25 yard line?  I'm not implying college football was first, it's just my frame of reference.

How plausible would it be to add that option in at this point?

I'm not sure how it's done in US college but in the CFL, a team gets three alternating attempts to score from the 35 yardline.

College was probably first to do something like this because up until recently, the CFL used two 5 minute halfs for over time.

For R3 it's unlikely. However as it's required for the Canadian game, it needs to be put in there pretty quickly.
