PP Points Should be more clear

I found the concept of PP points in the original game to be convoluted, at best. I would send out Japanese CV groups out and have only the vaguest of ideas how well prepared they were to sortie.

I would like to see each airbase, TF, and army group have its PP points displayed before the turn is resolved.

I still play this game since I bought it in 1992.

Thank you for doing this reproduction.

Actually, my understanding of them is that the PP level for bases equals that of their HQ. If SW Pacific has 120 PP, then, a TF from that will have better reaction against an IJN TF from any Combined Fleet base if their HQ had 80 PP. Same goes for aircraft. There will be poor showing for CAP if an airgroup is attacked at a base with low numbers of PP's, no matter the leader, fuel and supply points (as well as # of planes in the group).

Yes, I believe that more information regarding your units PP levels would be a nice addition. In general, your air units and LCU's perform more consistently the higher their headquarter PP level is. TF's are a bit more complicated.

My understanding of the game is that TF PP levels are only calculated during execution, and depend heavily on their previous movement, their target, and their home base in addition to the HQ PP level. It may therefore be difficult to show TF PP levels prior to execution.
