Is it possible to allow a ship under helm to roll without the helm bringing the ship back?

No. In order to roll around, you need turn helm off.

I knew you could change your flight computer to allow rolls, but its too bad there is no way to allow the helm to roll.
How about this, is it possible to have a capital ship NOT have a helm setting?

Capital ships have the manual and automatic thruster settings everything else does in addition to the helm.

Right, I understand that. What I am wondering is if it is possible, through maybe a function in the Flight Computer system of a ship to Disable Helm entirely, and thus making the Automatic settings the default.

FuryoaS,

I don't think that's possible. I have seen nothing about removing a capability like that. I think it might be hard-coded in.

You can get Cap ships to roll like that but you have to label them as smaller ships. Freighters, Cargo ships etc.. But in doing so that sort of messes up your balance system.
