Hi, I'm waiting for my HTTR shipping because I live in Seoul, South Korea. It'll be in my hand
in about one week later. I can't wait.. [8D]

I wonder the HTTR package has a printed manual in it's box and if so, how many pages it has.
I made up my mind to buy and print a HTTR strategy guide today. I want to make my HTTR manual and strategy guide
in one binder if possible(for convinence), but I don't know whether the box have a prinited manaual. Would you please let me know
about that? How do you organize HTTR manuals and strategy guide? 2 binder or 1 binder?

If you bought the boxed version then yes HTTR comes with a 120 page printed manual.

I remember the review thread of Strategy guide in this forum were very positive.

The print size on the manual was quite small if your reading vision is less than perfect.

However, one of the patches includes the manuals in PDF form (also permits you to play the game without the CD in the drive). So, you will have the option of viewing the manuals on the screen or printing them on regular size paper. The strategy guide is only available as a PDF.

If I may ask, what brings you to HTTR a few years after its release? Did you consider buying COTA when deciding to purchase?

Either way, I think you are in for a good time.

(HTTR will run at a faster rate than COTA given the same hardware which might be a consideration if your system is quite old. Also, HTTR does not impose a 96 DPI requirement for proper display. Those are the only two issues that I know of that might make HTTR a better choice than COTA depending on your hardware.)

To answer for your question, I first should confess that I've got to know the AA series just 2 weeks ago. In South Korea, It was very hard to know the games published by Matrix Games. Maybe that's why many games published by Matrix games were hard-core wargames and not box-package...etc. And the history behind HTTR, and COTA was somewhat unfamiliar with Korean Gamer. They are familiar with "Normandy Invasion", "Siege of Stalingrad", "Battle of Bulge", but not with "Operation Market-Garden", "Conquest of Aegean".
Personally I like Operation Market-Garden and other related movie-A bridge too far, and game-close combat 2:a bridge too far.

And I play wargame in my IBM notebook. It has P4-M 1.8Mhz and 16mb Video Ram.
Also It has 1400x1050 resolution. That meets requirement of both HTTR, and COTA.
I want to play HTTR first because COTA is my next to-buy list .

P.S : I'm very pleasant because very important person like Arjuna and MarkShot(you) pay attention to
just a newbie wargamer. [:D]

The series places very little load on the video system (as it does not use DirectX). Mainly the game is CPU intensive.

To get the best image quality (native resolution on your display), you will want to set up a custom short cut which specifies your native resolution. (see below)

If you buy the strategy guide about 50% will be historical analysis of MG and the other 50% game play.

Yes, MG was an amazing "what if" gamble. It was a gamble to break the stalemate on the Western Front. It was a gamble for Monty to prove his point to Ike that a focused punch at one place along the line was what was needed. It was a gamble for Monty to demonstrate that he was the senior military strategist; not Ike, not Patton, ...

I am always happy to respond to customers when I have time. HTTR is a great game even given improvements which were made in COTA. I think you'll have a good time. There are a number of third party scenarios for download too.

These days I believe all of Matrix's games are available via digital download. It is a relatively customer friendly system which Matrix uses. You simply get a serial number for your game. There is no malware copy protection installed. You don't need internet access to install your game or play it (no authorization servers). You can install on multiple machines. If ten years from now Matrix should dissappear, you will still be able to install and play the games you have purchased.

Sometimes, if you don't hear from Dave, he is simply too busy in his mad scientist role tweaking the code. But he always reads everything on the public forums.
