Andrew Brown map for WPO

As promised I made a conversion of my favorite WITP mapmode to WPO. [8D]
Since it is already has much less developed road network, there is not that many changes:
- removed road connection to Alaska.
- removed oil pipeline in Soviet FarEast
- San Francisco renamed to Mare Island
I also converted all stock WPO scenarios from 1 to 8, which are 31 to 38 respectively. They been changed to comply with new map, eg:
- Tainan was removed and all LCU/Ships/Air units been moved to Takao.
- Added all new bases introduced by Andrew, just with 0 size AF.
- Kyoto was merged with Maizuru. Tsu was introduced.
...
Once again, I didn't make any geographical research, it is a simple conversion which I think would allow to simulate more accurate logistics.
There is two zip files:
1.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/x0i1be
AB_Map6.2_WPO.zip - which contains map panels and wpohex.dat
2.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/10179p
Scenarios_AB_Map6.2_WPO1.205 - contains scenarios data, text, bmps
Copy all the graphics to the WPO ART folder, scenarios and text to SCEN folder, wpohex.dat to the WPO root folder. After copying wpohex.dat you cannot play stock scenarios anymore, so separate install is desirable.
There was no much testing , so please feel free to report if you find any weird stuff, like port with mines in the middle of China [:D]

admittedly the way the rivers are drawn bug me, but the geographic accuracy is too irresistable to refuse! now i can't wait to try it out - it's almost like a new game!

Just found that I forgot to include all kinds of smaller maps (weather, jump, etc) into the package.
Here is and update package which has all of them:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/3wxhle - ABMap_WPO_update.zip
Main archive was updated as well
http://www.sendspace.com/file/x0i1be - AB_Map6.2_WPO.zip

Copied all files into correct folders but I cannot select scenarios 31-38 in the game.

The scenarios are not listed. I've already added scenarios to WITP and WPO but such thing never happened.

that's right, i just checked the archive file and found scn files missing [:@]. sorry..
most probably this is because witpload doesn't build them.. anyway, this is pretty much clears out how popular my conversion is [:D]
PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you all the scenario files.

Hi Helpless,
I've downloaded your files. Am I correct in reading that I would need to do a separate install of WPO if I wanted to install the files without having them mess up the stock map and scenarios and my current saved games?

Hi Helpless,
I've done a separate install of WPO and fired in the Andrew Brown maps. It looks really good! I have nothing against the original art work of the map but this is a nice alternative and I have read that the map is supposed to be more accurate.
Thanks for the effort in converting the scenarios and modifying the map. I'm a little sad that I can't start using it right away. I am only about a year and a half into the 1922 campaign and don't want to quite now.
Thanks again,
Dave

What do the hatched boxes around some of the ports (Singapore, Palembang, Saigon, Rangoon, Manila/Clark Field) represent?

These mark no malaria islands in malaria zones.
I'm glad you like it. All credit's should go to Andrew Brown [&o]

I just tried to dl this, and got the scenario files, but the map files are no longer on the server. Is it possible that you could put them up once more? My home isp is dialup, so e-mailing them to me isn't going to work, but i can dl them at work.
thanks

Thanks ever so much! AB's map saved WITP for me (now I am totally addicted) and so I expect that it will do teh same for WPO. Kudos to you and AB...

Thanks for setting this up for WPO, the vanilla map had some serious problems.
But I've found a glitch, Saigon is a port but has no access to the ocean. Hex 31'46 appears as a sea hex but is coded as land, plus its Jap controlled at the start, (or has Charlie taken over!!) I moved a land unit to capture it but it doesnt open up the port.
So the 3 French CA's and some PC's are locked in, plus the Jap cant invade it.
Hopefully a little fix which doesnt spoil an excellent effort

Hmm.. strange. I have no problem with mentioned areas with my wpohex.dat. Could you please double check your wpohex.dat?
