ideas/suggestions/wishes

To kill time until we hear something from Matrix, I thought I'd start a thread for anyone interested in seeing this game re-released to post their ideas and suggestions, and even unrealistic wishes for this game.
I think the tactical battles are basically fine from what I've played (I have AOS2:PB, I don't think the interface is much different from teh previous two incarnations). The only change I would make is in the way the camera is moved, right now I don't think it's very intuitive, having to hold down the center mouse button to turn left or right. I think the interface for positioning the camera is betting in the tactical parts of the Total War series, though others may disagree.
Some have mentioned extending the game forward into the age of ironclads, but first I'd extend it back into the 16th century. Give us a chance to fight the Spanish Armada, or participate in the Anglo-Dutch war of the 1650's.
More scenarios are always nice.
The campaign game can be revamped. The original AOS2 had I believe linear campaigns, Privateer's bounty has a branched campaign that allows you to repair your ships, buy new ships, and otherwise configure your fleet (subject to how much money and prestige you hav) between missions, which I love--it adds to the feeling of the fleet at "my fleet." But I wonder if some kind of dynamic campaign can't be added: Simple strategic maps of the Caribbean, the cpast of the US, the med, or whatever. The player can be sent out from port on a specific mission, or just to cruise on a general task to disrupt enemy shipping. This can be combined with the fleet configuration between missions aspect of PB's campaign games.
I've ranted enough.
