Serial Number Problem..

I wasn't going to bug you - but after waiting for three days for a reply from Matrix, I figured that if I wanted an answer I'd better post here.
I have PS installed an old box that doesn't get used much (that lets me run it for a day or two at a time when I want). Anyway, the C drive was full and I wanted to move PS to the new data drive I installed. I uninstalled PS, reinstalled to the new location, installed the latest patch; and now I get a "problem with your serial number" error message.
It's the same machine, same boot OS, same logged in user. (And I repeated the whole process twice in case I did something dumb like mis-type the serial number.) I know I've uninstalled and re-installed before - but this is the first time I've done it to a different drive. Could that have somehow caused the problem? And, more importantly, how do I fix it?
