Kampfgruppe Erwin Returns

Sept. 17, 1939: My newly-organized kampfgruppe is ordered to advance and destroy Polish forces in the Radom area.

I have a mix of SS infantry and Heer tanks/artillery, equipped with the most modern equipment we could acquire. My infantry companies are commanded by Captains Steiner, Demelhuber and Keppler.

I have 28 tanks (13 Pz II, 9 Pz I, 6 Pz IV). Onboard fire support includes six 75mm IG, six 37mm ATG and six 81mm mortars.

The schwerpunkt of my attack is in the far south. A reinforced Aufklarungszug, with two Pz IVs, a light panzer platoon and the motorized engineer platoon, is to punch thru the Polish lines, drive like hell to the north-south road, turn north and take the rear VHs in a coup de main.

The infantry companies are expected to pin the enemy and hold them. The second Auklarungszug, supported by two PZ IVs, is in the far north. They will provide a secondary schwerpunkt, and will operate as needs dictate.

The weather is clear, so I have been promised Luftwaffe support as well as divisional artillery.

I suppose I need to follow Robot's example, and have three campaigns going on simultaneously. However, I can't even keep my attention span long enough to get ONE going continuously.

I know what I need to do. Start a collection of screenshots and private combat diaries, save them, and eventually write a single AAR that would read like a novel. The stop, save, write & start again method just doesn't work for me. [8|]
