Patches

Do you anticipate patches, or at least the first one, will be compatible with existing games? I'd rather not start a PBEM game and then have to restart after the first patch.
That begs the question of when you expect to have the first patch ready, roughly? [;)]

can't give you good answer on if the patch will need a restart or not, if any of the overall make up needs to be changed, then a restart will be needed, plus some of the stuff that is OOB based, would need a restart

Should be save compatible. For what it's worth, I try to change the second version number when the new version results in an incompatible save game, so for instance the current version is 1.2.1; the next will probably be 1.2.2 or 1.2.3. If it's not compatible with 1.2.1 save files, then it'll be version 1.3.x.
