Fighter recovery bug and radio command problem

My fighters are stacking up just outside the landing bay of my carrier and just sitting there in space. Reissuing RTB commands doesn't work at all. Major bug I think. Playing as Commodore at beginning of last chapter. Rookie level.

Unable to issue radio commands to other ships on list greater than 9. When I hit 1 and 0 - I get ship #1 instead of #10.

Otherwise I like this game better than the previous version (registered owner of both btw). Guess I'll have to try out my modding skills now.[:)]

The fighter's sitting there is a bug, but not what you probably think. The problem is that a damaged fighter (or one that has run out of gas) will be issued a clear-to-dock command and then be unable to execute it. When this happens, the que stops and nobody else can land until that ship is destroyed (since recovering it isn't an option either). The AI won't use thrusters either so the human trick for fuel shortages doesn't work.

The radio command issue has been known for a long time, but would appear to be low on the fix list because you can issue ships commands from the F3 view as well.

An intelligent person would think that any bug should be at the top of the fix list.Otherwise, your customers will get the feeling that Matrix is all about selling defective code. That's not good for business, in case you haven't noticed.[8|]

After spending my hard earned money on yet another shoddy title, rest assured that I won't be purchasing any other Matrix titles in the near future. Or in the distant future either.

There is an old idiom in the sales game...."If you have lost one customer, you have lost a hundred" That's because people are more prone to relate a bad experience to thier friends than a good one. Surprise! I am not just one lost customer stomping sour grapes on your forum. I have told all of my fellow space sim gamers on another forum to steer clear of this game. Oops. You didn't lose one hundred potential buyers. You lost thousands.

For myself, SSTGS is another example of a bad experience. Especially when I find out on this very forum that most of the bugs in SSTGS are leftovers from the original release of Starshatter, and even worse, the showstoppers are prioritized to the bottom of the list.
Don't you guys beta test the games you sell?

How odd. You'd think that someone could just insert some code to check on bingo fuel and damaged engine status - then just drop them from the que.

How about some old-fashioned Search & Rescue (S&R) recovery missions for marooned fighters (and pilots) using the auxilary landers that all carriers have? It would add a certain xtra level of realism then.

Maybe in Starshatter 6... maybe...

As with all our products, we will be supporting this one. John is investigating the various reports and we plan to have a patch to fix this and other issues.
