I know this is only loosely related to this game, but I believe it was the predecessor to BotR....

I just found it in the loft...must've bought it years ago. Does anyone know:
1. Is it worth firing it up?
2. Where to get patches/resources etc?
3. Is the game playable?
4. Can it be played on Windows XP?

Thx

Ahhhh

yes, it is related to us

(the ED in the title of EDtoBTR)

last patch was 1.02 for BoB

if you need it or can't find it, send me a PM with your email and I will try and send you a copy of it

some people have trouble with BoB on XP, it tends to crash, but if so, you can set it to run under XP as Win 98 and it runs fine

patches are available at the Wargamer website. www. wargamer.com click on the side where it says Gamers Network then patches and search for the game you want.

or you can go to the top of the page here, Dixie has been kind enough to host both of the BoB and BTR patches for us

I dusted off my copy of BOB and BTR while waiting for the new game. BTR was too scratched to play. Then my old laptop died. I sent it off the the repair shop yet again. The repair shop said it was too costly to repair, so my warranrty kicked in. I got a new computer. Sounds great huh? Guess again. I forgot to take out my copy of BOB from the hard drive. It is now long gone, as the computer shop would said it would no longer operate. I also lost some pics of my new grandson. So I guess I have to wait for the new game like everybody else. Bummer.

sorry to hear about the good and bad news

odd, most drives can be open when there is no power, they got a pinhole trigger that will open the drive when it is not working

(hate to say it, I think you had some lazy workers at the computer shop)

Lazy I don't know. They said it was a warranty issue. From what I understand, once the warranty kicks in, the computer becomes their's and was recycled before I ever knew what was happening. I did get a new computer, but it has Vista -- boy what a speed hog!
