I have just spent the last 2 weeks playing my way through a campaign game as the US vs the computer, just got to March'42 where I could start doing something and the war finishes with that damn US DROPS DEMAND FOR UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER bug. I now can't get back into the game to continue it. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. This is the second time this has happened to me in a row and its REALLY starting to get up my nose. You have got to fix this up in the next version guys - its terminal.

Happened to me too (twice!). When the bug has bitten, the game stored cannot be loaded anymore.
Since then I save the status of the game after each turn in slot "a", and when I start the game (after loading it successfully) I save it in slot "b". If and when during a session the bug pops up I reload from slot "b" and can continue from there.
BTW, the bug seems to be related to checking SCORE.
Hope they fix it in 2.2.
