Game On Demand, Printed Manuals, Ordering and More in 2007
All Games released in 2007 will now ship with our new Game On Demand features. The exceptions will be Forge of Freedom and Birth of America which already include these features as 2006 titles. Game On Demand orders will now contain the following:
- DVD Plastic Case with Full Color Sleeve.
- 1 to 2 CD's with Full Color Labels and with your Serial Number printed on them.
- Up to a 200 Page Printed Cull Color Manual
- All Components will be placed inside the DVD Case and Shrink Wrapped.
All new game releases will now start with ability to order either Digital Download, Game On Demand or both from the first day the game is on sale. Game On Demand orders placed during the first 5 to 10 business days will be placed on Back Order status and will ship as soon as they become available. Again we expect this to be between 5 to 10 business days.
What this does is give the gamers what they wanted - the ability to order the games the way they want when they want.
We will be converting the older game manuals over the next few weeks and months. Once this is completed gamers that order the Game On Demand option for those titles they will also have printed manuals as well. We will make clear in the store which games have the updated option including the printed manual.
If you have any questions please post them here and please let your fellow gamers know of these changes.
This is only the beginning of new things coming in 2007.

Sweet !!
Very good move from your side David.
Especially the point about the back order of the physical item. It will avoid a lot of confusion when game launches.

We will see, I'm not so certain there [;)]

David,
For those of us who already have the game will we be able to order the printed manual just on its own? I really miss the printed manuals.
Best wishes and a merry Christmas,

And will there be a possibility of shipping printed manuals to some remote corners of the Earth, like Poland, for example? [:)] I bought SPWaW Generals Edition but I think I'd pay for a printed manual...

Hi Guys
With the very limited exception of Forge of Freedom there is will be no option to upgrade older purchases of our "Game On Demand" products with the printed manual option. We really tried to make an option to allow this but its just impossible.
Please also rememeber we will still be offering our PDF manuals with our products as we done before.
David

David, thanks for the prompt reply.
Elwro, when did Poland become a remote corner of the earth? I must have missed that.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas,

Older Games - Game On Demand
David
Some of us would like to have a CD cased version and printed manual for games we already purchased, could something like this be made available?

Hi Pad152
I am sorry we could not provide that option.

Couldn't all of the older pdf manuals be added to the Kinko's online DocCenter list for ordering by mail or for pickup? Currently only Korsun Pocket, Startships Unlimited and Uncommon Valor are listed. Seems like it wouldn't be any more hassle to add all Matrix game manuals to the list.

The service is discontinued, the new service has nothing to do with the Kinkos Doc center.

Say I want to buy TOAW III. Is it bad to purchase it now, could I wait and get a neat printed manual with it for the same price?

We will be adding printed manuals to already published games as time allows. I don't know what the timeframe will be on that, but we should have more info in January and I certainly expect that it will take a minimum of a few months to get the existing titles transitioned to this new system. All new releases will start with printed manuals as they are released.
Regards,
- Erik

I think this is "One small step for man and one giant leap for gamerkind".

From the end game scene of "Nuke Wars" "I won, I won, I won!" haha

A DVD case is quiate a small thing. Modern games come in boxes not much bigger than a DVD case and the manual needs to fit inside that box.
In the case of Highway to the Reich, Imperial Glory, Korsun Pocket and Delta Force 5, the manual was small enought to fit neatly inside the box, the text was so small it was difficult to read and it was printed in black and white.
In each and evey instance, I tok the PDF version to the office and printed the manuals on A4 size and in colour.
The hard copy manuals that come with modern games are of no use.

Do not worry. The font size on all manuals will be 8pt. We have special wider DVD cases which can hold manuals up to 200 pages. Those will be usefull [;)]
