On a whim today I started to play the Rising Sun scenario from my stock version of Witp with the latest and greatest patches against the AI. I am traveling a bunch so don't really have much time for PBEM. Anyhow.
The first two days of this has just been me manuvering forces to hold out at selected places. Mainly my aircraft on the Malay pennuisla either up north to Rangoon or down south near Singapore. I also sortied Force Z however I added one of the British DesRon's with them that was at Singapore. On top of that I also increase the search capabilities of my sources by making my Hudsons to do Nav Searches at the 20% level. Two days later (09DEC41) Force Z hits the Landing Force at Khota Baura and achieved these results during night time combat situtation.

Though I trade a the Danae and a couple of destroyers. I am able to sink the Kongo and slow down a number of other Japanese Warships which at the time this turn ended were trying to retreat to Saigon. Where I hope that a few of my S boats will be able to set up and act as manuverable mines for the retreating Japanese fleet.

One of the other things that I did was build up a PT combat force out of the PT boats at Cavitie. THen push them forward to Bataan where they could harass Japanese landing forces. However thier first operation was their last

One can only hope that Lt. Buckley and Rusty were at least able to land ashore and I just hope that they are drinking Jungle Juice with some pretty ladies up in the hills.
All the while my forces in Hong Kong and at Khout Bharu are holding on pretty well. Though today the Hong Kong Fortress was reduced from a size of 5 to a size of 3 in combat with the Japanese. I don't think they will hold out past the week. Have to see what happens.
