PBEM problem

A friend sent me the first turn of our PBEM game. As the CSA I can open the .sve file but none of my forces except the ANV and garrisons are present on the map. No western brigades, navy, runners, or generals. The .rep file is also in the same PBEM directory. I tried doing a save and restarting the game but that did not help. He sent me the files zipped so they should not have been corrupted in transit. There is also some kind of stub file in the PBEM directory that just says "stub" when I look at it. Any help would be appreciated.

Did he load the "small start" scenario? The setup you're describing sounds like that scenario.

No, my first turn says early Nov 61. We are both at 1.2.3. I will send him a Union first turn and see if the same problem exists.
Edit - I'm checking with him to make sure he did not choose the small setup. It looks the the standard campaign is the default though.

The problem went away when I initiated a game so it was probably a case of "operator error" in that my friend must have chosen the small start scenario. It was probably just a ploy on his part to get to play the CSA which we all know is so overpowered in the game. [:D]
