CPX?

After having played Harpoon 2 for years quite a while back I'm stoked about playing my favorite naval wargame in multiplayer...now that we have this capability has anyone considered starting a Command Post Exercise simulating an operational-scale wargame? I remember participating in an excellent one with more than 60 participants about 6 years featuring a war with Brunei that simulated the naval element with H2 in a PBEM time-limited turn-based format. (TACOPS was used for the ground war) Has anyone considered doing the same for H3? I have limited experiance with scenario designe but I'd be willing to help in some other way...

A smaller scenario was actually exactly what I was thinking of. After browsing around the internet last night and catching up with what the Harpoon community's been up to these last few years I found the Europe-88 project, which was along the lines of what I was thinking except they seemed to be fighting an entire European war.
I found Nick Moran's (thanks for the jog on the name) exercise to be much more interesting and realistic...a small scale regional conflict that used a combined TACOP's/Harpoon approach.

Here's the official AAR from the battle: http://www.tacopshq.com/MBX/Brunei/index.html

I participated in this CPX when I was still a mid at the Academy, ironically a couple years after I graduated I had the opprotunity to visit Brunei for a few weeks while doing some counter-terrorism training with their navy. I thought it was ironic that I immediately recognized the towns and the topography and their Naval OOB from a computer CPX I participated in when I was a kid!

At the time I was responsible for inventing the weather. :O) I would personally love to run something like this and I'd have fun designing it, but I don't have nearly the time, TACOPS knowledge or wargaming knowledge to do so to the satisfaction of the participants. I'd def. assist someone else though.

Hm seems like the moderators deleted my Europe 88 post... why?

A couple guys did a small CPX with Harpoon Classic over the holidays, they narrated on IRC but sadly I wasn't able to take in most of it.  So sure you could use H3 as a good tool, MP for small engagements.

It's good to see that it can be found despite heavy moderation. I ask the same question as ragnar: why?
