Problems trying to move

I can't figure out how to move. My... afterthruster? Don't remember what it's called, but whatever it is uses the Tab key, but it doesn't work for me. I'm stuck on the first training mission, trying to get back to the ship, and I'm facing it and just drifting farther and farther away, and there appears to be nothing I can do to change directions. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

Shift-N = autonav to next nav point (it'll help get you back to the carrier).
a = increase thrust
z = decrease thrust
tab = afterburner - only works when at full thrust.
End = reverse thrust.

Unfortunately the tutorial isn't much use with these things. Shame. :?

Not quite true, it works "whenever throttle is set to greater than fifty percent."

Ah, ok. I gave up fighters as soon as I could (Capships all the way!) so didn't have enough time to optimise my observations. But that does emphasise that the game isn't clear on this point. :-)

A joystick helps, Saitex are very user friendly. This game is alot easier with a good joystick :p.
