Im quite sure that this topics was already discussed but i think that everyone notice that the Pacwar engine will be perfect to recreate the Mediterrean and africa struggle between Axis and Allies ....
The protection of convoys with supplies , the naval interdiction , all is here , and the "nodes" land movements will work with desert war .
This is just an Idea and i dont know if someone have laready said that its impossible to do ! I will be glad to work on it .

i think it would work great and what about a NavalWar set in WWI from the North Atlantic to the Med? Loads of countries and tons of Dreadnoughts.

The mediterrean war was quite similar to the pacific one for our purposes ,
There was Air Interdiction , Supply convoys , bif surfaces clashes , landings , islands , submarines warfare , and land combats
the mod will last from mid 1940 to end 1942
with many variants ( a more presence of german forces , italian CVs , Malta conquered ) i think should be interesting .
We all know that if german forces werent lost in the Battle of britain but employed in the conquest of Egypt the war was different .

I'll be looking forward to this new "Mod". I hope you'll keep us informed as to your progress. How long do you think this mod might take to complete?

I doubt to wether or not a Medeterranean war can be created from Pacific War. There are many hardcoded factors, such as Base locations, fuel, supply, etc. that won't mesh well to a war in the Medeterranean. It is an interesting concept, I was thinking about such a conversion for War In Russia to be a War in the West (ie. 1944-1945). Good idea, but, I think that without the code it is impossible.

Uh, with WiR its impossible even with the code.

Like PAC, a lot of stuff is hardcoded in WiR.
I hope Matrix is a lot smarter with WitP. Use modular programming, avoid hard-coding, move as much of the game's parameters as possible to *.ini or *.cfg files.

Major Tom,
Wasn't "Western Front" exactly what you had in mind for the WIR on the Western Front? Is it possible to update WF rather than transferring everything from WIR?

Hi, ah my old dream of a game based on the WIR/WF system starting in Sept 1939 and going all the way. With maps from Britain to North Africa and from Spain to the Urals (old SPI "War in Europe" for computer) Would that not be something? I really like the systems in WIR/WF just always wanted the whole war.

Ha, way to limited in scope. Start in 1936 with the Spanish Civil War, cover the entire globe, and work at company/individual ship/aircraft level. Now thats would be a game worth having.

Don't forget Japan's attack on China, that'll take us back to '33 if I'm remembering right.

It would take as long to play as the original war. Who has that sort of time to play a operational game on that scale? I can imagine political rules, strategic considerations - it chills my bone thinking about it. Give me one at the scale of Third Reich (AH) and I'll play it. Or bring World in Flames to the computer, it deserves it!

Hi, I have the time but I still need someone to play with.
