Mine, just because it was a silly looking thing (combat wise, it was a peice of junk), it the Russian T-35. This is the one that had two secondary turrets with 45mm guns and one main turret with 76mm gun.

Hello...
On TV, once saw an M-5 Light Tank (Stuart), try to jump 17 automobiles. The driver gunned it, it zipped along at a goodly clip, hit the ramp, flew off and nose dove directly into the first car. Kind of funny. Made it over all 17 cars, though. Flattened them all.
I like the American M-3, M-5 Light Tank.
Bye...

While not technically a tank, I love the JagdPanther. Beautiful vehicle.
For tanks, it would have to be a T-34/Panther tie.

Since the question was not about the "best", but rather our favorite, like Jess Housley, I favor the basic M4.............[8D]

Too heavy, too slow, to unreliable. But a good looking tank [:D]
My take is on the "Sherman Firefly"

This is in the UK OOB. I didn't even know it existed. A Sherman with a 17 pdr gun? And I thought that only the Germans made so many different mods to vehicle chassis. From what I can tell, the Sherman chassis was used for a bewildering number of vehicles.
Sounds like the basis for a trivia question -- what single vehicle chassis in WWII was most used to create new vehicles?

I did some checking, and it seems that maybe the German Pz IV chassis was most used as the basis for other vehicles. Production figures are below:
Panzer IV Pre-war: 211.
1939 1940 1941 1942 1943 1944 1945 Total
Pz IV A-F/1 45 268 467 124 - - - 904
Pz IV F/2-J - - - 870 3,013 3,126 385 7,394
StuG IV - - - - 30 1,006 105 1,141
Jagdpanzer IV - - - - - 769 - 769
Jagdpanzer IV/70 - - - - - 767 441 1,208
Sturmpanzer IV - - - - 66 215 17 298
Hornisse - - - - 345 133 16 494
Hummel - - - - 368 289 57 714
Möbelwagen - - - - - 205 35 240
Wirbelwind - - - - - 100 6 106
Ostwind - - - - - 15 28 43
I can't find any comparable figures for the use of the Sherman chassis, but I believe that for the Allies, it was the most used to create other vehicles.
None of this is surprising, and it perhaps confirms what were considered "the workhorses" for the Allies and the Germans. The Sherman and the Pz IV.

you may also want to check into the Kristie tank chasis. This was the starting point for both the
Russian BT series and T-34

Aren't you just thinking about the "Christie" suspension? There was no Kristie chassis AFAIK. But I don't know much.
The M18 Hellcat is my favorite tank. I guess the speed and firepower combined with the sheer insanity of the design always piqued my interest. I bet it could have made it over a car or two!
