Run plays.

Is it my imagination or do some of the run plays hand the ball off after the RB goes past the LOS? It's moving kind of quick so I can't tell for sure. It just seemed like a few of the longer run plays were a result of the RB being already past the DL when he got the ball.

The hand off logic wouldn't work past the LOS so I'm fairly sure that's not the case. If the QB was past the LOS he would take off and run himself and wouldn't hand the ball off.

DW,
Would it be possible to just change it so that handoffs can happen anywhere, and just make sure a penalty is called if the lateral is forward beyond the LOS or if it is a second forward pass, that way it would be possible to create hook and lateral plays?

It's not the QB i was refering to, it's the RB. But like I said, it could be my imagination. I'm trying to set up a league and haven't played too many games yet. So I don't really know for sure. It just seemed like the RB got the ball after he crossed the LOS from the QB that was behind the LOS. Maybe i should play it at a slower speed.

You are correct. This does happen and because there doesn't appear to be any logic for fumbles on the exchange this can be exploited. So I have made my own house rule of no handoff past the line of scrimmage. It sound like your RB and QB are not in synch such that the QB is too slow to handoff. Modify your play design to get the handoff quicker.

Oh.. I see what's happening.. yeah.. if you get the timing on the play just right (or wrong as the case may be) the target player for the pitch out is still close enough to the QB to take the pitchout, but he's also crossed the LOS.
Playing around in the PDS to make this happen, it's a very timing specific thing, but a very simple fix.
A player can't hand off or pitch-out if past the LOS. A player can't perform that logic if he's past the LOS. But a player can still receive a pitch-out past the LOS if the conditions are just right.
Thanks
