Ship Class?

How come ship type class "BB" is used for both Battleships and Dreadnoughts?

How come there is no "DN" ?

It follows the standard US naming convention, by 1922 (historically) ever nation had laid up its predreadnoughts sans Britain (with the Agamemnon, which went out the next year), Germany (which had no dreadnoughts), and Japan (with the Mikasa, which was taken out of service the next year).
 
US predreadnoughts were not officially taken out of service until 1923, and the last, Oregon (BB-3) was not taken out of service until 1942. When the US switched to the two letter code system in late 1921, all remaining predreadnoughts were designated BB along with the predreadnoughts.
 
On a more fundamental level I felt given Mike's limited time constraints I would rather have other things that having him add a new ship type, then teach the AI to use it, and then hope it didn't break the AI.
 
Plus I figured speed would also be a good determining factor: No predreadnought can do 20 knots or better, and the South Carolina class are the only dreadnoughts that can't do at least 20 knots. I figured that'd be a good enough thing to show players who didn't know which ships were dreadnoughts and which were predreadnoughts.
 
That, and I knew if we added DN or DBB, some wise guy (Terminus???) would point out, correctly, that at one point the Nagatos, Kagas, Queen Elizabeths, Tennessees, Colorados, et. al. were referred to as "Super Dreadnoughts."

Just looking at a list of ships I can't tell the Dreadnoughts from the Battleships, but seriously who listens to Terminus! [;)]
