Air patrol doesn't protect my fleet.

Another question ,please (1.200 patch).

I have an air patrol over a fleet. In this screen, a german fighter attack my fleet. Why my fighter doesn't defend my fleet ?

Image

however, I read this in the manual :

7.1.9 COMBAT AIR PATROL
Players may move Air units over a... a sea region free of enemy units as long as it spends no more than one half its current movement total to do so (air units so moved must be able to return to their home base region, ergo the limitation of one half its movement range). By doing this, the player is setting up a 'combat air patrol' whereby any enemy unit entering that region will be forced to engage in combat.

TACTICS TIP: It is often a very good strategy to use patrolling aircraft to fly protection over friendly fleets, (page 60 manual pdf )

Thanks !

Please check that your FTR isnt CARGO on a TRS rather than having flown itself to the sea area. Thats the most likely explanation. This sometimes happen if you try to move the aircraft too far or lack the supply to move tactically so you end up moving strategically.

Thank you for your answer. I think that when i moved my FTR, the arrow was green and not blue, and the sea zone is connected with england, where my FTR come from : it was not to far for my FTR. But maybe my FTR was not supplied during the german attack ?

I have a save before this problem (PBEM game), i will go to verify.

Thank you again.

You're right, JanSorensen.

It's easy to verify it. The Fighter and the transport ship have the two small shackles both, and the FTR have a blue arrow. [;)] A nice newb mistake... [:@]

Thank you very much !
