I have only recently purchased the game (just before Christmas) and so far have only played the short scenario (British/Dutch/French vs Japan) and am part way through the 1922 long scenario.

As the subject line states, I am interested in knowing which period is played the most and how they differ in terms of game play.

I prefer '22, because it's the most "pure" in terms of being battleship-heavy. In 1926, the carriers and aircraft begin to arrive in greater numbers.

Personally, I play mostly the late scenario because the transition is more interesting to me and some of the more outrageous capital ships are available.
 

I like later scenarios. More toys - more fun [:)]

I'm a '22 guy as well. I'd play in the '26+ time frame but haven't had time to do up a historical scenario in that period (one which assumes the treaty DID happen).

1926. I like to have a few aircraft around. Late model ships as well.

1922...airpower is too dominating later

well, airpower is dominating in 1923 too, british Cuckoo torpedo planes are devastating

I am playing 26. Airpower really does not affect it much. Allies have a distinct advantage though. Better patrol craft.
