If this is in another thread, I apologize, but has anyone else come across this issue. When the offense fumbles the ball and recovers, the offense is awarded a first down for the recovery. I am playing the latest beta release with 10 team American Rules league.

I noticed this as well.

Yes, I saw it for the first time yesterday.

Just to check, is this every time, or is the ball near a first down upon the fumble?
 

I think it was 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 8.

yes i`ve seen it several times using the latest patch . Seen it happen at lease 2 times a game in quick play . Hoping it dos`nt happen much when i start my next league.

During the games I had played, it happen at various locations & times. The following are just a few examples:
1 - 4th Down & 3 yards to go...Sacked for 7 yard loss, fumbled, lost 11 yards total, given a First Down to the Offensive Team
2 - 2nd Down & 16 yards to go...Run for 7 yards, fumbled, gained 5 yards total, given First Down to Offensive Team
3 - 1st Down & 10 yards to go...Run for 3 yard loss, fumbled, lost 4 yards total, given First Down to Offensive Team
4 - My Favorite! 4th Down & 15 yards to go...Sacked during a Fake Punt Pass, fumbled, lost 18 yards total, given a First Down to the Punting Team

  I'm not sure what's causing that but it doesn't seem to be happening on the most recent private beta build (which you don't have yet). As a test, I purposefully coded the game to fumble far more often than it normally would, and on any occasion where the offense recovered their own fumble, the down would advance if the ball wasn't advanced over the 1st down marker during the recovery.

  So I don't think it's going to be a problem with the next release.

I got this bug after I sacked the QB and he fumbled.  It was ruled a fumble, but no one got a chance to pick the ball up; the play just ended and the other team got a first down at that spot.
 
I had another situation where I fumbled and the play just ended, giving a first down to the other team.  Nobody picked the ball up.

I have seen the same thing, QB hit, fumbles, ball drops, play ends, first down offense (even if 3rd and 15).
