Moved this from another thread because that thread dealt specifically with iMacs. I'll update this post as I test more but since I don't own but a grip of Matrix titles I'd appreciate any others providing their results. Enjoy and thanks!
Summary of my limited testing so far:
Testing platform:
MacBook Pro 17"
3Gig
OSX 10.4.8 (Tiger)
Crossover 6.0.0
Parallels BUILD 1970 (1GB of RAM)
Boot Camp 20 Gig partition
Apple Bluetooth Mighty Mouse
Anything that is not listed has not been tested yet. I will edit this post as I learn more.
War In The Pacific
Parallels: YES (and zippy too!)
Crossover: NO (unless it takes more than 20 minutes to load)
Crown of Glory
Parallels: YES (also quite fast)
The Operational Art of War III
Crossover: YES (love me some widescreen, not fast though)
Bootcamp: YES (and fast)
Sparta & Gates of Troy
Parallels: NO (bummer, man)
GG World at War
Parallels: NO
Boot Camp: YES
Supremacy
Parallels2.5: NO
Parallels3.0: NO (game requires DirectX 9)
Boot Camp: YES
Conquest of the Aegean
Boot Camp: YES
Parallels: YES (the scroll thumb sensitivity seems high if set high on the mac)
I used to have Highway to the Reich but it was lost in a move. Had I purchased the cheaper download version I would still have it...Grr...

Yes SPWAW is DirectX based, you would need a Bootcamp Windows XP installation on your Intel Mac.

It will not run under Parallels as it is DirectX based. Please check the Parallels features.
You would need to run it under a Bootcamp XP or Vista installation.

Hi!
I recently bought a new iMac (Leopard installed), and using Boot Camp (Win XP Pro). I've installed SPWAW but got a DirectDraw error when starting the game. Anybody know how to solve this problem? I'm using the latest DirectX, latest video drivers.

Got it to work using WMware Fusion (v 1.1)! Funny thing is that WMware use the XP Boot Camp installation... but it works [:)]

I'm having the same problem. I have DirectX 9.0c, and the latest video card drivers. When i start the game it runs through the intro movie and then gives me the error message DirectDraw Initialization Error #-2147467263. I have tried running directly from mech.exe. I've also tried changing my hardware acceleration and turning down my monitor resolution.
In case it helps, I'm running Windows XP SP2 on an Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz iMac with an ATI Radeon 2600 HD video card.

Greetings.
I just had word from one of my customers that Maximum-Football 2.2 runs on Macs as well.
Hi David,I've used Maximum football on my mac mini long enough now to say with a degree of certainty that it runs just fine. I haven't experienced any crashes or lockups ... As far as I can tell there are no compatibility issues. I've played games with different rules/leagues... I've twiddled with the play editor ...
The only thing I haven't dug into yet is the league play and creating players and so on...
fyi I have an itel Mac mini with System 10.4.11
Thanks for the update versionGrant
thank youDavid

I have yet to find a Windows game that will not run on my MacBook Pro or my Mac Pro in BootCamp . I am running nearly all of the Matrix WWII (including SPWAW) and American Civil War titles on these rigs, and far faster than my old PC ever could.

Bootcamp means that you ARE running XP. It's not emulation.
What I run on my MacPro and MacBookPro with no issues whatsoever:
Forge of Freedom
Crown of Glory
Guns of August
Panzer Command:Winterstorm and Kharkov
Close Combat Modern Tactics
Close Combat Cross of Iron
WWI (the Ageod version)
Guns of August
Commander Napoleon at War
WWII Road to Victory
Kharkov Disaster on the Donets
GG War Between the States
Advanced Tactics
JT Campaign Series
Battlefront
Conquest of the Aegean
NK Operational Art of War
Battles in Italy
Battles in Normandy
Across the Dnepr
Highway to the Reich
Korsun Pocket
SPWaW
Tin Soldiers:Caesar
GG War Between the States
JT Battleground: Civil War
Flashpoint Germany
Empires in Arms
Napoleon in Italy
Campaigns on the Danube
War in the Pacific
I think that's pretty much everything I have bought. Some stayed longer than others, but ALL have been run on my Macs.

I have no problems running ANY Windows products or games on my Macs under Bootcamp and Windows XP, including GGWaW and many other Matrix products like TOAW, Advanced Tactics, Battles in Italy, BII, Korsun Pocket, you name it.I hav many other games like Fritz 9 (chess) the Total War series, combat games, Warhammer onlne, D&D online, etc, I even ran Second Life for a while.
If a product does not run, it is usually because you do not have the latest version of Direct X installed or you do not have a good graphics card. Most new games come with the latest version of Direct X.Under Bootcamp, your Mac IS a PC, so there is no reason why a Windows program would not run under Bootcamp.
My Macs include a Mac Pro, an 24" Imac and a Macbook Pro.
I have not tried Parallels, but I understand that programs under Parallels run a bit slower because they are running under the Mac OS.Older versions of parallels did not support graphics cards, but the recent version claims that it does.

Ben,
Do you know whether Tin Soldiers Caesar will run under parallels 4? I was running it with parallels 3, but have not been able to use it since I upgraded to parallels 4. The game installs and loads, but only a white screen appears.
Thanks,
James

The Tin Soldiers games require .NET 1.1 and Managed DirectX 9, I wonder if Parallels 4 supports those?

Erik,
Thanks for the reply.
I think it is definitely some kind of DirectX/.net issue. As far as I can tell, I am running Direct X 9.02.3900 and .net framework v3.5. However, .net 1.1 is also installed. Windows version is XP SP3 v5.1

Please? A year 2010 update?

Because of several software updates since the last forum entry here, I would like to ask a couple of questions before buying a Macbook Pro (since WitP-AE has to work, or the deal's off).
1. Do Matrix games (especially WitP-AE) work on a summer-2010 Macbook Pro with Boot Camp, and Fusion, and Parallels? I would prefer to use either Fusion or Parallels.
2. Any problems using Windows 7 (64 bit)?
3. Anything else I should know?
If this has been settled elsewhere, my apologies. Seems like the right place.
