Occupation!

Hi!
I have had alot of time on my hands for a couple of weeks and I have among many things been toying around with the scenario and map editors. This has resulted in a map of north eastern Crete (made from an 1941 Italian 1:500.000 map)just overlapping the border of the Italian and German occupation zones, that where created after the allied surrender of the island.
I aim to create a series of semi realistic scenarios, with the focus on small scale low intensity operations.
The comitted cretean resitance combined with unforgiving terrain sometimes proved to be outright devestating for the occupying force. I aim to make the scenarios fairly long in order to make the most of the impact of both supply problems and lack of rest for the troops.
More info will follow....

Pergite,
Interesting and unconventional idea for a scenario.

Pergite,
Interesting and unconventional idea for a scenario.
That was sort of the idea behind the scenario, to try something new. The base force is the 95 GJ Recon Bn, and it will be supported by different units for different scenarios.
The objectives for the first scenario is the following:
Greek Resistance forces have laid siege to the small temporary german garrison in the village of Mállia. These besiged soldiers need to be reinforced and the enemy repullsed.
The same resistance forces (I will probably have to call the insurgents or something in the german briefing) have also blown the bridge west of Mállia. This bridge needs to rebuilt in order to secure the supply lines further up into the mountains.
The battallion will have support of a couple of tanks as well as bridging resources. A supply base is alos dispatched to the area if the fighting should drag on.
All is of course fiction, but the bridge idea comes from The blowing up of Gorgopotamos bridge on the mainland. This act made lots of the inhabitants of a whole village to members of ELAS (the communist resistance movement). The historical nazi treatment of any resistance on the island was horrible. Whole villages where massacred for even a single act of resitance to the occupation.

Nice concept. I'm looking forward to this one. [:)]
You might consider providing alternate reinf schedules so the exact positions are not the same with each iteration. Further, I'd recommend providing additional forces to the resistance in the Favour Allies reinf schedules and set these up to ambush theGerman relief force or their bridge building enterprise.
You could do likewise for the favour German schedules and include an extra relief column from a different direction. All to add a bit of spice, unpredictability and hence replayability.

Thank you for the good advice.
Its hard to get a good balance in the scenario, especially given the small scale that I want to keep the restiance units at, so suprise attacks have sort of been my solution.
My map was not that good either, some places got to cluttered for the terrain model to work as it should. Alot of lessons learned until next time.
