hey i have some problems with the game... when i play and gets in a fight, then it sometimes happen that i cant lock a target ?? can someone explain why plz also sometimes the engine just turn off for some reason and there is no way to turn it on again

There is a certian range you must be within to get a target lock. I usually fly capital ships and this range is about 100KM depending on the ecom level of the target. Damage to your sensor systems may cut this range down quite a bit more.

As far as your engines shutting down, try hitting "C" and take a look at your caution window. You will see a list of systems and thier current status. If anything associated with your drive system is flashing red, it has taken damage and will not work. Yellow means the system is still working but not at 100%. You can make use of the fighters thruster system to fly home in these situations assuming its still working.

along with this is the possiblity you are engaging the autonav by mistake.
 
look at the HUD display on the right, it will say autonav or nav, depending on the active state.
