East Front Recommendation?

Hey gang,
All this talk about the game made me unable to wait for the new release so I reinstalled old East Front (1 not 2) on my computer. Any suggestion for a good scenario to play? I don't have nearly as much time to play as I would like, so I would prefer something not too large. Any suggestions to hold me over till the new version is ready?
Thanks,
Duncan

Hey gang,
I must admit that I was a bit disappointed that no one had any suggestions for me. I thought you guys had played this a lot.
Anyhow, I choose the Frozen Offensive mission. I am about 11 turns into it and despite being a bit too hasty with my troops and taking more casualties that I feel I should I have secured all the objectives. Now I am scouting out the strong Russian position to the SW and trying to decided if I should advance upon it. There are no objectives there, but I did find their Arty and HQ units so it is a tempting target. However, it is well defended. I fear I have over extended a PIVD to explore the area and I may regret that. But if I can get those juicy guns and HQ units...
I can't wait till the Matrix version comes out.
Thanks,
Duncan

Wow, the original East Front.
No wonder you didn't get any replies! Although, I do have it, I don't believe I have installed it in years. East Front II is vastly superior and I believe you will notice a significant change when you start playing it.
Take care and good luck

Sorry
That I didn't reply to your asking.
I played the EF games. Although I admit it wasn't an org version but a copy,so I couldn't save any missions as the pc would crash. I always played missions with the Gross Deutschland Division, as I knew someone who fought in the Eastern Campaign in WW2. (He also fought in France 1940 and then in Yugoslavia 1941.)
I can't remeber whar version of EF I had so I couldn't really be of any help to you.
To be honest I didn't even know that there was more than 1 version on the market. Here in Germany war games are not sold as much as in the English speaking countries. Ego shooters are a different story.
But as lots of others here in the forum we are counting the days till the big release, soon we will be counting backwards- depends on the matrix boys!!
