Virtual cockpit?

In a desperate attempt to get some sort of TIR support working I tried to see if there was a way to change the view in virtual cockpit with the mouse, but I couldn't get the view to change even with shift + arrow keys. Is the virtual cockpit strictly TIR-only or am I doing something wrong?

In the virtual cockpit (SHIFT F1), not the padlock view, you can look around by holding down the right mouse button while moving the mouse. Is that what you mean or am I missing the point?
Hope this helps.

Yes, that's pretty much what I mean. However, for some reason my game doesn't work like that, what's the critical setting? I have (or at least I think I have) the mouse setup to mouselook and it does work in the outside views, but not in the virtual cockpit. Do I need to change some setting or does my TrackIR (even if it doesn't work properly yet) take over the virtual cockpit view so that nothing else works there? Even shift-arrow keys don't seem to work.

Thats strange. If you have mouse look enabled it should allow you to pan with the mouse outside and in the virtual cockpit. You must be right, maybe the TrackIR overides the mouse look setting.

That's what I'm afraid of. If there was a functional mouselook feature there might be some way to get TIR working, but it seems that mouselook might be disabled by the half-functional TIR support thus effectively preventing any hope of getting the newer TIR systems working at all. I'll keep testing to see if it's just a problem with my system or if there's a workaround.

Also, I've discovered that if the mouse cursor is on or near the edge of the screen you are panning towards, you'll stop panning when the mouse pointer hits the edge of the screen.
