Can't get SPWAW to run

I downloaded, and installed SPWAW last night. Everything went okay, completed download, installed successfully, etc. Clicked on icon to play....the SSI logo came up, credits ran, I hit enter to start the game and bingo...screen blinks a few times, then blank screen with a cursor on it, then I'm kicked back to my desktop with the SPWAW window showing. I am running WIN98 (upgrade 2nd ed.), on a Compaq Presario PII, lots of space on my HD (another 6 gig), 48 meg of SDRAM, all other programs except Explorer and Systray shutdown, no other problems running any SteelP games, flight sims, etc. What gives? Any suggestions? HELP!!!!!
