Last update, there was no fanfare given for the new scenarios included in it. If you didn't read the "What's New" carefully, you could have missed it. So I want to post some "sales" literature on my newest one, which was among the additions included in that update.

Kaiserschlacht 1918
Designer: Bob Cross
TOAW III version 3.0.0.15
Scenario version 1.0 (Last mod 11/8/2006)
Start March 21, 1918
Germans vs. Allies
1149 Division/3 sized units
Max of 15 whole-day turns
2.5km/hex 59x49 map of Northern France

A simulation of the German Kaiserschlacht offensive in 1918. The German player will have to apply the revolutionary infiltration principles at the operational level to succeed.

In addition to the above scenario, I’ve also created a “mini” version of it. It is the same scenario except with a 5km/hex 20x20 map, and 237 Corps/3 sized units. So players can pick whichever scale they prefer – the detailed monster, or a small “beer & pretzel” version.

Finally, for fun, I edited the unit graphic files to revise the “fighter” icon to look like a biplane. Stored in scenario-specific folders, they will only affect those two scenarios.

If you've updated, you can find both scenarios in the WWI folder. Note that there are no ACOW versions. You'll have to have TOAW III to play them.

And here's a movie of a "me vs. me" test of it:

And, while we're on the subject, note that the last update also included an update to my Waterloo 1815 scenario, found in the Pre-WWI folder.

The main change was the employment of a modified equipment.eqp file that renames many of the equipment items used in the scenario. But there was also a change to the MRPB value, dropping it to 3, and the addition of a house rule about requiring leaders to remain stacked with subordinate units at all times.

...Thank you for the posting as I did indeed overlook the identities of the new scenarios available.
...I have tried the Waterloo scenario twice while trying to learn how to play this game. Failed both times as Napoleon, but still really like the feel of the period in this system. I wish there were many more pre-WWI scenarios like it. My only criticism is the relatively tiny map of the battlefield, which severely restricts my somewhat fumbling attempts at Napoleonic maneuver.
...I will enjoy comparing your new Kaiserschlacht scenario with the two boardgames I own on the relevant battle during this coming weekend.

Ah . . . this must be the 2005 SZO 10 Turn scenario as an adult. Very nice piece of work.

That's correct, and thanks.

This is the first scenario I know of in which players can choose the scale they prefer.

Interesting that you mentioned the recent S&T Khan game- that might be an interesting game to try and attempt to convert to TOAW to see how well pre-20th century warfare could be made to work. I thought the stratagem chits were pretty clever; they could perhaps be done with TOs.

I didn't actually get the game, just the mag. Sounds like it's up to you, Grant.
