If you are running the public beta version of Forge of Freedom, please post any comments, feedback or bug reports IN THIS FORUM ONLY! Do not post these reports in any of the other Forge of Freedom sub-forums or the main forum. It's very important for us to separate what is coming from people running the beta version and what is coming from those still playing the official release version.

There are updated scenarios in the public beta. The final installer will remove old scenarios, but right now the new ones are just added in.

The new ones to try are "A Coming Fury (July 1861)" and "Southern Steel (November 1861)". A Coming Fury is an updated July 1861 scenario from the one that shipped with the game and is great for play as either side. Southern Steel is a new scenario that gives the Union its full historical economic and population advantage. For veteran players, Southern Steel is best played as the Confederacy against the Union AI.

When you are posting feedback, please tell us which scenario you are playing as well as your difficulty level and any non-standard options or settings.

Regards,

- Erik

For those of you who don't know the drill... If you encounter any problem that might be bug-related please provide the save (or autosave) files from just before it occurred, putting them in a zip file and uploading them. If you get a crash, at the very least make a note of what had just been happening and what sort of message you receive, and if possible take and post a screenshot. The more information you can give us about any problems, the better the chance of solving them efficiently, and getting the gold patch out that much sooner. Thanks!

I can't send an 'autosave' move since the BETA version does not even load. Where do I proceed from here?

You're saying that no autosave files have been generated while you were playing?

Yes, there were autosave files when I was playing. But I can't play now because the game does not load. You may remember that I said I un-installed it and tried to re-install it.

Presently it gets past the Matrix screens etc..and then gets to the main screen where it is loading the Forge of Freedom game. The music plays but is 'missing all the way through it'. I remember that that was later corrected. No matter, it crashes before it finishes.

I HAVE loaded the latest Flash player - no change.
