Can't start v4.5

My main system is down (waiting for IBM to ship a replacement HD) so I reloaded v4.5 on my old P2-400 that previously ran it, and every SP game back to 3, flawlessly. The only change is that I pulled the vid card out of it to use in the new box, and replaced it with an old 2mb PCI card.
Now when I try to launch SPWAW 4.5, the SSI logo comes up, but then the screen goes black and I have to do a 3-finger salute (well, 2 salutes) and restart my machine.
Any ideas how to get SP to run with the parts I have? I'd hate to buy another vid card for a system that's solely a backup.

Sys info: Intel P2-400/128mb RAM/WD 8.4gHD/
STB Powergraph 2mb PCI/TB Montego SC/Win98

Thanks

TRy teh same thing I posted above if you are getting a direct draw error, could be that DirectX still thinks the old video card is there and needs to be reinstalled with the new card?

This is address to Dx-remover. I had to uninstall DX8 after it messed with my gameplaying, so I installed DX7a back. Prog that they offer did work for me, but use it on your own risk
