Replacements in longer scenarios

Given that scenario lengths look as though they're going to hit 14 days in some cases for BFTB scenarios and I guess could get longer still for future iterations of the game, are there any plans to model the arrival of replacement men & materiel to existing units on the map?

I appreciate that this isn't going to happen for BFTB, but is it on the list of 'things to do'?

Not being a military type, I'm not sure how these things work in the real world, but over a 2 week period it certainly seems likely that I might get a couple of blokes and a 2nd hand bren carrier out of the logistics chain to make up for the 78 men I got killed in a frontal assault over open ground on day 1.

I'm certainly going to have some seriously thrashed units at the end of 2 weeks, if not. [:D]

Hi Nestor,

I don't think there are any plans to model the arrival of replacements and materiel , but only Dave can tell you for sure [:)]
I agree that the lack of the arrival of replacements and, especially, materiel could be a problem in longer scenarios. I don't think units routinely incorporated replacements while in the frontline, but they certainly would receive repaired tanks etc. This means the current system is not 100% realistic.
On the other hand, in the longer scenarios you'll just have to be very careful about handling your units, knowing that losses will not be replaced. This is probably quite realistic, since most real life commanders did have to consider the longer term and not just the battle at hand.
Right now, there are two 11-days scenarios ready for testing. The 17-day scenario I'm working on now is not ready for testing yet. We'll have to see how things work out.

nestor,

It's on the wish list but not planned for BFTB. I agree that for long scenario ( >30 days ) it would be desirable to have such a feature.
