coming fury scenario.

I'm CSA and I'm besieging fort Donelson that has been taken by yankee scum [:D]. There's a big city in this river province (Nashville IIRC) and I move in with Stuarts corps to take back fort Donelson. Nashville is in my hands (I was too late to save for Donelson, but early enough to save Nashville).

I choose attack fortress and have to play a detailed battle - I'm a lazy guy and I choose for instant battle result after loading the detailed battle screen. Consequence is that I loose the attack on for Donelson and the Union takes Nashville ... oh my god.

now is this last thing, a bug or a wad ? [:)]

It depends on whether you had a garrison in Nashville already or not.  Even if you had assigned units to garrison Nashville that turn, it's possible they didn't enter as a garrison before the battle drove you out of the province.  However if you already had units in garrison in Nashville at the start of the turn, then there may be a problem.

sorry - I didn't make a save ... hope somebody can reconstruct this with a garrison in the city.

but I suspect you are right Eric, I might have "ordered" one of my infantry to move into Nashville and during the course of events, I might have attacked first - before the unit went in to garrison...
