The bridging units in Market Garden don't seem capable of either repairing blown bridges over the Rhine (eg railroad bridge to SW outside town) or of building a pontoon across it.
into the 1st AB controlled bridgehead. The blown bridge shows in red rather than blue but I couldn't find any reference to this in the manual.

The bridging units also seemed disinclined to build a pontoon over any minor river I placed them next to for experimental purposes - the yellow building icon just doesn't appear

In both cases the bridging units meets all criteria per the manual

What am I doing wrong!

None of the XXX Corps bridging units has pontoons (like BII)... this is an editor setting.  They can repair blown bridges.

Gotta look into the difference between the red blown bridges and the blue blown bridges.  Suspect there's a problem repairing the red background blown bridges.  XXX Corps will repair the blue blown bridges.

The ferry and the rail bridge at Heavedorp cannot be repaired.  These both have a red blown background.

I never read up on this but seeing the red over the bridge made me think the same thing about not being able to repair the bridge.
